About 10% of all people are lesbian, bisexual, gay, trans* or inter*. They and their (chosen) families and friends are still confronted with special challenges and exposed to discrimination. Some people seeking advice have individual questions that arise due to their sexual orientation, gender identity or their “being”. Others are “only” looking for (new) contacts and joint activities, while others are in a crisis or have concerns that they cannot or do not want to clarify with friends or (chosen) family.
In stressful situations and personal crises, whether e.g. in the course of self-discovery, coming out or transition, in the case of experiences of discrimination or challenges in the partnership as well as with all questions about sexuality, we are available to all LGBT*I* and their relatives with support and psychosocial advice. Especially in complex life situations, we take the time to explore the situation together and to work out concrete, individual solutions.
Especially in the context of refuge and migration, we have been able to develop important skills and helpful networks in recent years. We offer culturally sensitive support for lesbians, gays, bisexuals, trans* and inter* people with a history of forced migration in all psychosocial as well as asylum and social law issues. Peers or professional language mediators support us along the way.
Our counseling teams consist of full-time and voluntary employees with different special knowledge. All counselors are qualified, undergo regular further training and are subject to a duty of confidentiality. They know the specific life situations and different lifestyles of LGBT*I* people.
